Isabella Scott is an artist living and working in New York City. She primarily works in oil paint, watercolor, and pen but frequently explores other mediums as well. Both pattern and color theory are central to her work. Conceptually, she is interested in subverting patriarchy, heteronormativity, and capitalism by creating time-consuming, detailed, and meticulous works. Her art is inspired by typically feminine crafts and is an ode to the unpaid labor typically performed by women. Colorful, imaginative, campy, and occasionally kitschy, her work is a celebration of femininity and queerness.
